It was great to be invited to the Gala Dinner Guildhall, London celebrating the 50th anniversary of Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) a think tank founded by none other than Margaret Thatcher in 1974. Fantastic to be hosted by the Director of CPS and Sunday Times columnist Robert Colvile and see our Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in fine form!
CPS and it's championing of free market principles, low taxes, small government and robust supply sided policies for the last half century has had a remarkable effect on influencing government and the British economy. They are the principles that inspired me as a young A Levels and undergraduate Economist.
On the day we had a strong and responsible tax reducing budget putting more money in people's pockets, incentivising small businnesses and laying down the post inflationary platform for economic growth, I will keep campaigning for rolling down the size of the government and incentivising people to work hard.
